Discover well-being in a different way in Briançon Serre-Chevalier valley

If the site is called Etugen Bien-être rather than Etugen Massages, it is for a specific reason: massage is an essential entry point to connect with one's body, release tension and promote better listening to oneself, thus initiating a reconnection with oneself.

Well-being cannot be achieved by focusing on just one aspect of our lives. To honor our complexity, we need a variety of complementary tools. Massage, which releases tension and emotions, is intrinsically linked to yoga, meditation and pranayama, disciplines that nourish the body and mind.

I share these practices with you as valuable tools to cultivate your well-being and relaxation outside of massage sessions, thus guiding you towards autonomy and fulfillment.

Tailor-made yoga, meditation and pranayama classes to have a good time and introduce you to practices that are good for you

My classes are entirely tailor-made, adapted to each participant. Although I rely on pre-designed programs and sequences for various profiles, I build each session in real time according to the desires, levels and possibilities of the participants present. This allows me to modulate the pace and difficulty, thus guaranteeing a pleasant and fun experience for all.

During the introductory sessions, you will discover the simplest asanas, learning how to perform them well and identify the expected feelings. You will be made aware of simple breathing techniques, ranging from cardiac coherence to energizing breaths.

My goal is to quickly make you aware of your practice, helping you know your limits and understand the sensations of each posture, so that you can integrate these tools into your daily routine if you wish.

WHAT IS YOGA?

Yoga is a holistic discipline that aims to harmonize the body, mind and soul through a series of techniques and principles. The word "yoga" comes from the Sanskrit "yuj", which means "to unite" or "to join", symbolizing the union of body and mind.

WHAT IS HATA YOGA?

Hatha Yoga is a traditional form of yoga that emphasizes the union of body and mind through physical postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and purification practices (shatkarmas). The term "Hatha" is composed of the Sanskrit words "Ha" (sun) and "Tha" (moon), symbolizing the balance of opposing energies.

It can be practiced gently or intensely, depending on the needs and goals of each individual. Advanced postures, such as the crow (kakasana), headstand inversions and side twists such as Astavakrasana, develop both the body and the mind, requiring willpower, core strength, balance and flexibility.

YOGA MEDITATION AND PRANAYAMA ARE A PATH TO INNER AND SPIRITUAL REALIZATION

These disciplines belong to the 8 Limbs of Patanjali, a series of practices and principles described by the sage Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras, forming a complete path to spiritual realization and self-discipline: Yama (code of conduct towards others), Niyama (introspection and individual discipline), Asana (yoga postures), Pranayama (breathing), Pratyahara (control of the senses), Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (meditation) and Samadhi (awakening).

Understanding the connection between yoga, meditation and massage

THE USE OF BREATH AND YOGA IN MASSAGE

I frequently use breathing during massages to help the person relax mentally and psychologically. For the practitioner, mastery of breathing is crucial, because it allows to give rhythm and depth to the massage with calm and lightness. Yoga is very useful for the masseur to maintain a straight posture, keep the spine aligned and maintain flexibility. Massaging thus becomes a meditative practice, promoting concentration on the gesture and feelings, while the recipient can enjoy deep mental rest.

THE USE OF BREATH IN MASSAGE

Wellness and sports massage integrates harmoniously into Patanjali's 8 limbs by supporting the principles of yoga in a holistic way. It promotes Ahimsa (non-violence) by encouraging body care and relaxation, thereby reducing tension and stress. By contributing to purity (Saucha) and contentment (Santosha), massage helps eliminate toxins and cultivate a state of inner satisfaction. It also prepares the muscles and joints, increasing flexibility and facilitating a deeper and safer asana practice. By promoting deeper and more regular breathing, massage improves pranayama techniques, calms the senses (Pratyahara), and aids concentration (Dharana) and meditation (Dhyana), making the practice of yoga more enjoyable and rewarding.

TO GO FURTHER: THE AYURVEDIC TRADITION

To take wellness further, the Ayurvedic tradition and Abhyanga massage offer complementary methods for self-healing. Ayurveda, an ancient Indian system of medicine, uses herbs, diets, and practices like massage to promote health and balance.

Abhyanga massage, an integral part of Ayurveda, aims to balance the doshas (body energies) using specific oils to improve circulation, detoxify the body and promote relaxation.

These practices support Patanjali's 8 Limbs principles by providing additional tools to balance and nourish the body, mind and soul, thereby facilitating concentration, meditation and the attainment of the state of bliss or Samadhi.
